Food Menu On Mt. Kilimanjaro

Food And Drinks During Kilimanjaro Climbing

The culinary experience on your mountaineering expedition is nothing short of remarkable! Despite the challenges posed by high-altitude trekking, the thoughtful variety and quality of meals stand out. Fresh fruits and vegetables are served daily, while fresh meat is provided at the start, with possible resupplies along the way, ensuring climbers get the vital nutrition and energy they need for the ascent. A standout highlight is the “All Day English Breakfast” awaiting climbers back at Base Camp after their summit success—a truly satisfying and customizable reward, from eggs to other breakfast favorites. To add a cultural touch, climbers can also savor traditional Tanzanian dishes like Njegere and Machalari, further enriching the experience. It’s also comforting to know that special dietary requirements, including vegetarian options, are taken care of with advance notice. This meticulous attention to meal planning ensures climbers feel nourished, energized, and supported throughout their challenging adventure.

Drinking Water on Kilimanjaro

Our water comes from mountain streams, which we treat using Aquatabs, a specialized purification tablet, to ensure it is safe to drink. Water is only available at specified camping areas, so bring about 3 liters with you to stay hydrated while trekking. We take stringent efforts to ensure that all of our water is safe to consume. This involves boiling and filtering water for drinking, cooking, and cleaning. Your safety and well-being are our primary concerns.
